Stone Town
Only 35 Km from the hotel, it is the old quarter of Zanzibar's capital. Declared a Unesco World Heritage site, time seems to have stood still in Stone Town. The tour includes a visit to the House of Wonders, Doctor Livingstone's house, the slave market, the cathedral and much more. But without a doubt, the best way to enjoy Stone Town is to get lost within its narrow, winding streets and see the old houses, many of which conserve reminders of their prosperous past.
Spice plantations
Zanzibar is also known as the Spice Island. Zanzibar's history would not be complete without nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, cardamom and many other species, imported from Indonesia and India by the Sultan of Oman. The plantations, close to Stone Town are a visit you cannot miss.
Prison Island
Prison Island is only 20 minutes from the resort by sea. This was the base that the Arabs used for their slave trade. The prison was built under British command, although it was never actually used.
These days it is idyllic place, perfect for snorkeling or diving. There are many sea turtles here, imported from the Seychelles.
Jozani Jungle
Jozani is in the centre of the island and it is the largest forest area in Zanzibar and the natural habitat of the islands important native species, the red Colobus Monkey (Procolobus kirkii). There are also 40 different species of birds and 50 species of butterflies. Jozani Jungle is the perfect place to discover Zanzibar's natural beauty.
The North coast
Only 50 Km by road you will find Zanzibar's splendid north coast. The extensive white beaches are surrounded by palm trees, coconut groves and mangroves.
Diving at the island of Mnenba is an incredible experience. Nungwi is the heart of the northern part of Zanzibar,its small beach is known as the "Jewel of the East African Coast" and here the you can enjoy incredible pure turquoise waters. It is worth exploring the coast to see the fishermen build there traditional vessels called dhows.
The South coast
Kizimkazi is 70 Km down the coast and is famous for its ancient mosque, built in the twelfth century, and considered one of the oldest islamic buildings in East Africa. Here you can swim with the playful dolphins that inhabit the southern coast.
The Blue Lagoon
The Menai Bay Conservation Area, to the south of Zanzibar, is an area of outstanding natural beauty just waiting for you to discover. The Blue Lagoon tour starts from the village of Fumba a 20-minute drive from Stone Town. Fumba is the most convenient location for exploring the wildlife, isolated sandbanks and rugged island scenery of the Menai Bay Conservation Area.
With a traditional motor/sailing boat we are going to a very nice sandbank for swimming and snorkeling. After tasting fresh fruit we sail to Menai Bay were we take a fresh seafood lunch, and sail to some of the most beautiful lagoons, mangroves and beaches. After enjoying a fresh dive we sail back to Zanzibar island.
